I'm not done decorating the enclosure yet & more rocks will be added later today; I'm also going to spruce up the other venomous snake enclosures as well.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

I'll have to post some updates soon as both rattlesnakes have shed in the past few weeks (perfect sheds for both), and I updated the copperhead's enclosure a bit. I'm also "babysitting" a very nice Central American rattlesnake (Crotalus simus) for my mentor until Friday, so I'll have to post a picture or two of that little guy as well.

Speaking of updates, post up some nile pics!

My pet burrow isn't really the most photogenic critter any more. I haven't been able to photograph it in weeks since it darts into its burrow whenever I reach for the camera; I'm fairly certain that it basks, eats, & drinks only while I'm at work or not in the room. It's been growing slower than it should despite proper diet, temperatures, humidity, & space, so I think that the import that it was from was full of runts.

How big is it? Once they get to a certain size they start going through growth spurts, then will slow down and put on weight, then have another growth spurt, and so on.

I just said, "Screw it," and dug it up a little bit ago since I haven't been able to decently measure it in many weeks. It's right at 18" long including the tail. Let's move this conversation on over to its thread, though. :)

awesome!!

Thanks! Now you just need to get one of your own. :D
