well...they dont need a heater...they juz hang on the outside.....filter is sum starnge bio-filter thing that my dad picked up at the AQUARAMA show. Credit for the pond is actually for my dad....i juz ask him to buy this and that. its a family thing...we like monsters. every week, we must go to the market and buy 8 kg of squid, and chop it up....we feed them twice a day. and....what a Fossorochromis rostratus?......is it that little chiclid like fish with the two spots?

With free heating, no damp problems (like we do when we have to keep ponds inside), you must save a lot of money. And I imagine the squid is cheap in your location.

But seriously, your pictures are inspiring. Do you have the pond open to guests and visitors?
And are these kinds of ponds typical in Singapore? What I mean by that is, here in the US or UK, any Monster-Ponds are few and far between, and strictly for the extremists…are they more common in your location?
 
i doubt....cuz private estates here are extremely expnsive........few people can build and mantain such a pond....bt we do have quite a few people who have monster tanks. most typical ponds are koi ponds...there are whackos with backyard arowana breeding ponds and all stingray ponds. the pond is open to those we permit to enter....
 
God i hope your pond is still around and open in 2 years, and that we are both on MFK still.
I am travelling the world for 12 months, in 2 years time. And Singapore is on my list.
Who knows hey..

I wish I could build a tropical out door pond without having a heater.
