The female is pretty good. Only once in awhile she will lash out at him.

I got them a month ago. A good friend of mine called me and asked if I had the room. They are in a 300g. They are actually my second pair. I also have a smaller dovii pair. The male of the smaller pair is 9in and the female is 7.
 
I feed them NLS sinking pellets, thawed market shrimp, beef heart and krill. The pellets are their main staple diet.

I think black sand looks good. I would be to worried about filters myself but many people use sand. I like gravel myself the best also they like to dig.
