yeah if you do get them paired then i would definitely recommend making some sort of refuge for her to go when times get too rough for her, especially on those days your at work. maybe it will buy her enough time to survive til you get home

I got some clay flower pots from home depot big enough for her to fit in. I used them when I was spawning my 17in plus Wild dovii and 10 in female. The male cant fit in there and do damage. Hey any tips on finicky lil private? He has become a picky eater now.
hmm none of the growouts ive had have become finicky except the one i have now. i pulled him from the community and placed him divided between my location X males and that was all it took. he boosted in growth fast. im thinking it has to do with testosterone lol all competing
Well he was killing everything I dropped in. NLS pellets, Krill, Flakes, massivore. HE will only take black worms right now. He is in with a texas cichlid thats about an inch smaller than him and a 3in JD and 2 plecos.
how big is he? maybe you could divide him with one of the 7" females that doesnt work with the bigger guy and i know that will get him going again
He is 4in now but he should be a bit bigger. Active as hell. HE loves to chase after the JD and texas lol.
YES. Thats was GMFISHNUTS prize umbee. He made an offer that he was available. Thought about it for a week or two then picked him up Saturday. The colors on him are incredible. Just want to breed him and push more umbees in the hobby. Pretty much NYC area.
