nice fish!!!!!!!!!!!

im not very familiar at all with piranhas, but the one in the first pic, is that a black piranha? i saw a program on piranhas and there was one that looked like that and the narrator said that black piranhas are solitary and like to hide. i would love one like that, if you could give me any information on them, like size, diet, substrate, parameters, etc

le patron- the first one is a black piranha its called a blue diamond rhombeus( it has little blue/purple glitter speckles on it) its just another color form of black piranha the also have gold diamond rhombeus. hes around 9 inches so he really never hides but my 6 inch black ( regular black peru nothing fancy) is always hiding and only comes out when the lights are off. so yes when there young they like to hide. my blue has the biggest cohones of all my fish and even goes for my hand its really really cool :WHOA:.. size usually around 12 inches tops in captivity but there are reprts of 22 inches in the wild. they are very very slow growers. i feed mine any white fish raw like catfish, bass, tilapia, shrimp uncooked. but mostly catfish my blue wont touch shrimp i have no idea why. i use back gravel because i like the aquaclear 110 and if you have sand they eventually make alot of noise so much you cant stand it. and i find gravel is easier to pick up the fish chunks they leave behind but there not too messy compared to my caribes. i took the gravel out of there tank as you can see on pg 2 because all the little chunks of fish left over got stuck in it and there was alot of chunck because they eat as a pack compared to blacks that are solitary fefinetley no tankmates unless there food. my blacks luve a good powerhead in the tank i perfer koralia 4 or larger. water parameters i keep my ph at a stady 7 i dont like peat but i do add drift wood in my tanks so they leach tannins in the water wich softens it so they do perfer softer water. but mine have been fine for over a year now. i started with frontosa and fell in love with the black rhoms in the process my two favorite species as you can tell by my name haha.if you can find a blue jump on it. i had a really hard time finding mine. but the regular blacks are just as cool just not blinged out. good luck and happy new year to you. sorry i wrote so much i can never stop talking about rhoms.;)
