Crikey they're TINY! 
I remember when mine were that small... Took about 10 months to get to a decent 8-10" and what you'll find is the black stripe fades with maturity. They are fantastic fish and if you want some fun, throw some crickets or locust in there and watch their ambush techniques in action. They'll hover just below the creature until it moves then BAM... they strike incredibly hard.

oh and Jelly; be careful adding what you think might disrupt the balance. It may surprise you to know but it isn't the Black Wolf who keeps the golds in check- he's too slow. Actually, it's the Brycon who is quick enough and brave enough that it kicks the Golds when they're being as bit too cheeky. A hoplias might not be fast enough to avoid getting tagged by the Golds when they're in a particularly arsy mood.
