Some Observations on Grass Pickerel

tiger musky? not a good idea. Hope you have a pond ready for it, as it will grow to be over 3 feet

It looked like a pickerel in the pet store, it had a dark line through the eye. I thought it might be miss identified, but no such luck. The line disappeared as it got bigger.
I was considering putting it in my outdoor lined pond. Its 8' X 12' and 3' deep and in the shade, but it can only live there for so long too. Another natural pond would not be a good idea, because it will get to warm.

gotcha. well, good luck with it. I guess you could eat it when it gets larger.

IVE had chain pickeral before and they eat very fast but they didnt eat alot compared to the sunnies i had in there with them

measured the pickerel today, he now stands at 8 inches long. He ate a 4 inch long chubsucker like it was nothing. amazing to see

i definatly notice that he knows me when i walk in the room he does the same to me and i have him in a tank with a red eared slider turtle and a 5 inch bull head and i have them in a 125 gallon tank and il usually put around 2 and 1/2 dozen small fathead minnows in and i will give it to him he is usually the forst one to down his share of the minnows and usually the minnows are gone in a couple days
