Wow

HOLY ****! I havent even seen an Altum Angel in Canada! How much did they cost you. I hear there pretty pricey :/

Considering their high mortality rate during transport, they'd be costly.;)

Is true for the WC altum, he mortality rate is very high, that's why i prefer tank bred, but it is so difficult to find tank bred altum. it took me 2 years to get this batch. and i pay a lot for them, arrive 53pcs at 5cm tall, and it is still 53pcs now, some at about 20cm tall now.

I also have another blood line of tank bred altum too, and also 3 batch of wild altum. i will breed with this altums. will cross back hem with wild altum.

wow, those fish are absolutely amazing, you don't get much better than captive bred altums, and to have TWO bloodlines?!?

Altum Angels is just one of those must haves for many aquarists. They will look majestic once they have grown to about 20-30 cm high or more including fins. There have been reported breeding for some time already from Germany, Japan and more recently Czech and Switzerland. Mostly from Horst Linke's line of captive breed Altum's. The demand for captive bred altum's far exceed the supply, therefore the difficulty in getting any of them. Then there's also the problem with wild caught specimens of Altums. I wish I could get some captive bred ones from Switzerland through a friend who knows the breeder personally. Even so, I still not able to get any. Tough luck.......
