They look great, very healthy. :) Is that a TSN being used as a pillow in the first pic? :P

Yes, its a TSN. It has since been sold to another person because it is getting too big for my tank.

Beautiful n healthy looking bichirs, especially the fat one.:D

What are the spesies that commonly available in Singapore?

We have lapredei, endies, congicus, senegal(available in albino, long fin version and lots of short body for albino ones), ornate, delhelzi, poly palmas, lowei, weeksii , moke (very very rarely imported). Quite similar to what you have in your countries.

the 2nd one looks like it could be guinea.

the 3rd one, if its wild, looks like a guinea, but the irregular scale pattern (and the shorter body?) makes me think farm bred. of course it could still be bred from guinea individuals, but i wouldn't be able to tell.

the 4th one, i think i can rule out volta and nigeria. thats some unusual pattern. do you know if its wild or farm bred?

the 1st one, i'm tempted to say volta, if its wild caught.

again just educated guesses :)

BK is right. All except the 2nd piece is farm bred.

Even for the 2nd piece, I was told by the previous owner to be a wild caught specimen but than it is really not possible to be sure.

Its only been with me for a week. From the amount it is eating, it will not be long and slender in a month.

I will post some pix for our viewing pleasure next month to see if we can still be sure it is wild caught.

yeah i had suspicion that the 3 are farm bred. the 2nd one does look wild, and it looks guinea.

judging from its flat head it does look like one :)

Could the flat head be a result of it not feeding enough previously? This could be the case because it started eating 15 minutes after it is in my tank. In the case of your wild endy, it does not seem to have a flat head? However, it does look very tough like a warrior from the wild.

Finding out the regions these endies are from is really fun!

Hi

One more question for the experts here:

How do you define flat head? I check my endies and I have one more guy with head structure similar to the one in my second pix. I attached his head shot and full body view. This endy is about 13 to 14 inches long. BTW, this endy looks somewhat different from the other endies. Behaviour wise is identical, just as greedy and active.

Please let me know if this guy is also wild caught. Thanks in advance.
