I think only if you put him in a tank away from a female. Being near a female shrinks their kok and prevents them from showing their true potential. Put a smaller male next to him and he will explode!!

wow, that walmart fh has kok! i have seen fh like him on AQ for over 200. sorry about your kamfa, but fh fry are evil. i have lost alot of my fry to sibling rivalry. are you focused only on fh now or do you still keep pure cichlids?

The walmart flowerhorn is my favorite fish to interact with by far. The past few nights I've been getting him to jump for food and bite my finger. Hes always begging for food and attention. I couldn't be happier with the way he turned out. This is what he looked like 9 months ago when I bought him for about $3.
and here he is now. Kind of funny to see how he's grown but everything else on him still lines up.
I always new his pattern would be ugly but I figured I'd give him a chance anyways and I'm glad I did.
I still have lots of pure bred fish. Here's a f1 barred midas I'm growing out who is one of my favorite fish. I'll always love pure bred fish but with flowerhorns you're always getting something different so it adds so much more to the fishes personality.
I have a lot more new worlds if you look at my threads but I haven't really been taking pictures of my new worlds lately. I've just bought too many new flowerhorns these last few months I guess lol.
