Good to see ya around boost! I see ya still got some type of bass(striper). Hows the fly fishing been for ya?

Thanks bradda. if you don't see me posting, it doesn't mean I'm not checking out all your awesome cichla updates ;) Fly fishing is great when you want to kick back, relax and realy enjoy your surroundings, something I enjoy deeply.

You've gone to the dark side. j/k
I like your stock. The first pic resembles a fish I catch in Hawaii. We call them papio. They're brackrish when small but goes to salt as it matures, then it becomes an ulua. No wonder you were eyeing my snook.

Haha Yeah, papio are a jack which is what these are. Jacks aren't really native to where I live though. During the late summer the gulf stream swings up our way and we get warm water and an interesting array of weird and sometimes tropical fish. I love snook, I used to have one, and they are awesome fish. I wish I could get my hands on another :(

LOL, I had a tough times trying to get my hands one of these guys

nice...finally found this...i love it!!! im stationed in guam now and freshwater monsters are hard to come by so I pick up a saltwater monster instead...check out my golden trevally on my posts...hey how much for some of your trevally? i would like a school?
?

Although these jacks are not really native to north east coast, I caught these guys myself with the throw net. During the late summer, the gulf stream will swing up our way and leave us with some exotic goodies.. These guys feed like cichla, pop to the top, splash and back down.. I have a video, I'll see if I can figure out how to post it in a thread.

boost you know what kind of papios they are?

I'm 99% sure they are Crevalle Jacks (Caranx hippos or Carangue hippos). Their fins were yellow until the water temperature of my tank dropped below 70 degrees but they still eat like beasts. After they eat their fins will get some yellow coloration back but it fades. I'm sure once the temperature in my tank rises back up in the spring, their coloration will reappear.

nice...what you feeding those guys?

Everything and anything, the only thing they wont eat is pellets. They are bullet fast. Their main diet consists of cut mullet, clam, mussels, krill, silversides, squid..
