The tank was being lit for photos with a set of halogen work lights from Home Depot (yes, honestly). They get hot so the photo shoots have to be kept short. You also don't want to mix the halogen lighting with fluorescent because the white balance will get all messed up. You want to room the tank is in to be as dark as possible (cover all windows to minimize reflections).

The fish were not kept together. The Jardini was extremely agressive so he was kept by himself in a 72 x 24 tank. I suddenly lost the poor guy about a year ago due to a malfunctioning heater (Won Bros. titanium). It was shorting out and I suspect was leaking electrical charge in the water which messed up his equilibrium. By the time I realized the problem it was too late.
