Thanks a lot, haha i have to admit i was very nervous at first. It didnt really bother me when i got my royal in 05, but when i brought these home, getting them out of the bag (well pillow case) when i got back was quite scary. They werent best pleased and shot out of the bag. i wasnt use to a snake moving so quickly or reacting as fast when i grabbed them to pick them up. Now im use to them i know they didnt mean to intimidate or be aggressive but at first it scared the hell out of me. I certainly wouldnt want to be bitten by one, and i now appreciate what all the articles i read were saying about the transition from small snake to handling a big snake.
They are really very soft though, even though they were origionally wild caught, they havnt even hissed never mind tried to bite.
I think you should take the plunge and get one:naughty:

I wish my Hog island boa (if you don't know its really just a dwarf red tail) wouldn't bite and hiss. Mabe I should of gone with a full size red tail:nilly:. Yours are very nice btw.

I am familliar with the Hog Island boas and other morphs, the Hog Islands boa's are a really nice snake!! I would keep them all if i could. I really fancy a longtail boa (Boa constrictor longicauda) or an Albino redtail.
How big are your Hog Islands? If they are still very young that will explain it. Just keep on handling them regularly for short periods of time. Or just reach in the viv and stroke them occasionally if handling them is too risky, just to get them use to being touched.
Pics?:D

Truely stunning

Thanks a lot im going to swap the sand for black sand i think to bring the colous in him out more. Its the most aggressive feeding ray ive ever seen. It even pushes my temensis and tigrinus out of the way :D hes a great flower ray.

currently I'm doing all that. But its slow going some snakes are just a little more bitty than others. suspriseingly my macklots python calmed down right away with the same treatment lol.

pics I had a friend take these when I just got her. she wasn't in the best shape (note the sunken in eye's and thinness.) but she's up to full strenth now thanks to lots of mice and water :D

Ye my snakes are still a little jumpy when i touch them at first and the female will whip its tail arround if you touch it, even by accident when handling it, i guess its just rediculously self contions/insecure (typical female:grinno:) about its tail.
I hope it calms down for you, its a stunning looking snake, thanks for the pics;)
