I don't understand how anyone could say that is a natural looking tank. it may be a natural looking landscape but really, have you ever seen anything that looks like that underwater? as I have said, they are beautifully crafted works of art, but they are also about the most unnatural tanks out there. I just can't understand this obsession with setting up an underwater habitat to look like a landscape.

^ I guess its like how some people only love s/w and some only love f/w... every one has their own preferences... kinda like people who opt for tiles / bare bottom and those that opt for substrate...

Personally i'm a big fan of a lot tanks that are more like the Takashi Amano style... floating islands and lakes in tanks are aesthetically speaking very well crafted, but not my thing either...

I can appreciate all kinds of aquascaping. I enjoy the "natural" tanks as they have been coined. The natural context has to do with making it look like the side of a mountain, a forest, rolling hills etc. They remind me of a panoramic landscape.

My tank is more Dutch style which I also love. To each their own. Regardless of my personal preferences, I try and look at the overall health of the plants, positioning, trimming and planting techniques and from there I decide if the tank was skillfully crafted.

Another of one of my favorite tanks, representing the dutch style:

I like the how the dutch style looks as well. I'm a fan of all tanks really. I think if done right every all the different style people use look good. I can understand how alot of people don't like tanks that simulate landscapes outside of the water.
