thanks for all comments i believe its a spotted gar but someone said it might be a false gar, and here is a full pic of my tank

well, since you asked, might as well be straight up.

cichlids are bad tankmates for gar
jars are even worse
the tank is actually too big for what looks like a 6-12" gar
you have a florida gar

Ya i know but my jardini is a big wuss and is more scared of the other fish and i dont think i will keep the cichlids for too long at least in this tank but i was told the gar will get up to 18''

i want to build an 800 gal tank and my girlfriend is totally cool with it but money is tight right now specially with putting 20k into my mustang to rebuild it

great to hear you know how large it gets, and that the cichlids are going to be cleared out. not thrashing on you, just letting you know.

on the note about the jar, more often than not, the ones that were thought to be "wussy" and part of the exception rathher than the rule, usually end up beating the gar badly.
