Are those bio balls floating in your tank?
I never thought of using media that way before...I like it

Yeah. I put them in the tank with all the foam from my 100 gal (i mean from the 30 gal sump) when I set it up, and after I was sure it was safe I pulled the foam out but they seem to like the cover from the balls and a few play with them so I left them in. Its a little weird but I like it. So does my ropefish.

great looking tank! love the barbs, flagtails etc.

for a quick fix for the background, you can get the ones from your LFS and stick it on the outside back of the tank. I use a black one.

doesn't look quite as good as paint, but you don't have to drain/move your tank to get at it if you have already filled it..

No substrate=cleaner tank. Do you plan on adding any at some point?

Very nice. You like the curved glass? I have wanted to see that size in the curved glass for a while. I agree it needs a background, even a cheap LFS one would not look too bad.
