That's difficult do to hybridization in the pet trade of these fish, the best way to know if you have a purebred fish is to buy from a vendor that sells purebred fish, ethier wildcaught (F0) or bred from generations of wildcaught (F1-F2-F3 etc..)

i personally am not sold on the fact people can take different traits and pick them apart and say for sure what it is. because in all honesty, if you bought it from an average LFS it's a hybrid or you can't tell. On occasion though some LFS will be supplied by vendors or importers that sell purebred fish, so you never know.
