Some pics of the fish in my 225

Thanks guys for your kind words
the bushy plant is a plastic plant, I buy the reptile ones cause they are bigger, cheaper and come with suction cups ;) never had a problem with them in all the years

And no the tank does not have a crack, it has 4 pieces of glass in each corner to help maintain the structure. the 5' x 3' footprint holds a lot of water in a relatively smaller area so it needs to be extra strong. the only reason why the silicone is kind of messy is because when I got the tank I resealed it and I was very very worried about it leaking so I rather use more and be safe than it break.

Icatchsmallone thanks I'm very happy with my new gar even though I can't for the life of me get a ful lID on him. there are more pictures of him in the gar section media lounge

Very nice tank! I love the dimensions! Looks very spacious from any angle. I see we're both striving for a peaceful community. When are you gonna put a substrate or are you gonna put a substrate at all? The GG still looks very young at the size you mentioned.

Thanks Naos, the GG is around 9" mark I measured him earlier. and as for the substrate, I kept it bare after I moved it just to keep the water quality good for a while as the fish adjust to the move. I will put sand in it when I get round to it. Not a huge fan of gravel and I've never had sand in a tank this large before

Is your GG a he or a she? I cannot tell from the pictures. What color of substrate are you planning to add? I currently have a diamond black. I loved it so much when it was new but all my fish have turned darker including my Pbass. Excellent for the rest but not for the Pbass as they need to be brighter. Anyway, majority wins. I HATE GRAVEL! Tried it once and I needed to vacuum every day. It traps so much dirt. Why do I feel like we have and like the same fish, almost the same tank size, and have the same concept for a tank?

By the way, I suggest you add that sand now to speed up the cycling if you're cycling. More media, more BB. In my experience, my fish get more stressed with a bare bottom.

yeah I am going to add sand into the tank soon, and Yeah I know we have the exact same interests its really weird haha. The GG I think is a he because its starting to get a hump. his mouth is in the stage now where its no longer a beak, its starting to fatten up.

I was thinking of just going pool filter sand for that natural look but I do really like the look of dark sand. I heard that it makes ornate bichirs patterns come out really nicely
