A while ago, I was told this history by a fisherman, friend of mine: His father and his grandfather were fishermen. They both usually went fishing for several days through the jungle.
When his father was about 17 years old, he went with his father (grandpa) looking for black piranhas. They usually know which species are available in every river in the jungle; so they quickly arrived to the place they were looking for. This was a small river with dark (black) and slow running waters.
Then his father took his pants and his boots off and jumped into the river looking for piranhas (he says it was safe to get in the water with piranhas unless you are bleeding or have some fresh wound). Water almost reaches his knees.
His grandpa noticed his son was in the river and shouted him to get out; then his father raised his eyes to look at his grandpa; and suddenly a huge black piranha jumped out from between his legs and took one of his testicles out in just one bite. He was wearing some underwear but this was also cut with his bite.
His father did not feel the bite. His grandpa quickly took him out from the river. Blood in the water was deadly risky with such big piranhas swimming around
They walked back to their village and a paramedic took his father to the city hospital.
Now, his father jokes with this because he has had seven kids with only one testicle between his legs
