What’s up everyone, I have posted some pictures of my dwarf pike already here are some pictures of my larger pike I promissed some of you. Please believe me when I say these pictures do not do these fish any justice. The Atabapos II are so much redder in person (Nothing like Tapajos I but a lot redder then what the picture is portraying.) and the "Blue 33" Have a lot of pink/purple and blue on their upper and lower fins. I am not the best photographer but I hope you enjoy.

This is a bad pic. but you could really see how pink the dorsal fin is and how blue the anal fins are. Trust me it looks even better in person! These colors seemed to be washed out on the other pictures.

very nice. your atabapos look good. doesnt appear to be that much HITH. what kind of parameters are you keeping them in?

nice pikes. my punctata "blue 33" is hard to photograph. she seems more interested in getting food than letting me take a picture lol. im going to try to get some pics of mine up tonight. how big is yours? who did you get it from?

Some great Pikes! - the alta are super tho not really 'dwarf', I think of most Sax group as medium size, some are over 10". They're very similar to Cr. anthurus - love the spangling, sorta like glimmering snowflakes.
Your AII's are lookin healthy, the sub-adult markings are very distinctive.
The punctata is a spotted hunk ~ is the last pic the same fish?

Thx. for posting your fish - very good Creni keeping!!

Only one of them came with HITH markings, they are actually starting to fade away on the one Pike. I try to keep the water around 5-5.5PH every once and a while I will get a reading of 5.8. The tanks temp. is set a little high around 82-84F. I do 50-60% water changes using cold water from my R/O DI unit only. My driftwood dyes the water to a nice light-medium brown tea color. (I prefer the tea color look; IMO I think it helps the fish.)

I got a group from my friend Scott, the biggest is about 7.5", then 6.5", and the smallest is 6". I think its two females, one male. We shall see I need to vent them get some pictures and send them to Ed so I could know for sure.

Yes I consider Alta as medium sized pikes as well lol, I was saying that I have posted some pictures in the past of my dwarf pikes and these were some of my bigger pikes. The first, second, and last picture is the same fish, the other pictures are my other two Punctata (Blue 33) I own.

beautiful. great colors and pics! im really diggin pikes lately, and i just got my first a few months ago and hes fantastic. awesome personality and good eater lol

im still learning about crenicichla, but they are quickly becoming a fav in my book

Awesome!! And your pH is PERFECT!!! The atabapo IIs look amazing!!! Perhaps you'll be able to achieve their full adult coloration? I hope you got a female though!!! If they are from the same batch that Scott had at the MCA then I think I picked out the only female. LoL

Check the dorsal, females will have a distinct black blotch or several black spots close together about the middle of the dorsal. :)

I just saw that Scott got in some more interesting crenicichla. Those cincta he has are tempting me. He also has some nice lenticulata in right now too.

Thanks for sharing! Superb pictures!! :D

Those pike look great. I really dig the punctata! Jer, you should so get one of Scott's cincta, I really like mine.
