ok what do you use to clean your pond? i mean suck on the gravel. i have a pond python and sometimes it works sometimes it dont. i need something better, any ideas? also i am an idiot and built my pond without building shelves for my plants, what do i do lol

you have gravel in the bottom of your pond? does it have a bottom drain? if the pond shape is built correctly and with a bottom drain, you should have no problem with debris in the bottom. i know Tetra makes a bottom drain that can be used externally meaning it doesnt have to be built in and can be moved around the pond to different areas...

I have never heard of a bottom drain.

a bottom drain is just that, a drain at the deepest point of the pond where the dirty water enters the filter, just like in swimming pools. what kind of filtration do you have?

well i havent put my liner in the pond yet or anything, just got it dug and got the liner today. so i guess i can add a drain

what is the shape of your pond? for the cleanest pond, you should slope the sides towards the drain

its a big square lol. but yeah im interested in it, i can still slope all my sides to the middle. how hard is it to install

not hard at all. place the drain and do your plumbing then lay the liner on top. cut a small hole in your liner, place silicone between the two halves then screw them together. thats is!
