Small town near Toronto
I have my happy two sitting in my 55 gallon, And I had some questions about them.
1: They hang out and always follow each other, Are they paired?
2: ATM they are about 2.5", will the eat the danios in the tank when they are larger?
3: How fast/big do they grow?
4: Any special care needs? I do 20% water change over the course of a month.

Have they been snipping at each other? If they are what kind of snipping-fin tearing-harmless snip-? If they are a pair I would remove the danios and add some tetras as differ fish so they can work together and form a bond. I would raise the temp to 83 and feed them bloodworms to entice breeding. :) PM me if you have any Questions since I probably wont look at this thread again...lol

bumpity
Where ever one is the other is never far...

I have a group of angels who do this. The males form a little bump on their heads when they are older. Don't think flowerhorn, frontosa, or morii. think little bump.

1. It's possible but that does not mean you have a bonafide pair. There is no way to tell the sexes of juvenile specimens.

2. No.

3. Depends on how you accommodate your angels. Elaborate your feeding schedule, menu, tank maintenance, tank mates, etc.

4. Your maintenance is very inadequate. Minimum should be at least twice a week by 30%.

It isn't always accurate. Venting is still the most reliable indicator.

No. Keep the answers here. Many people can benefit from the answers given.

Hi..:iagree: with Lupin... Angels, when young love to school.. so there's no way to tell if this is a schooling behavior or they are pairing.. The hump does not always mean male.. They need water changes much more often.. Are there any other fish in the tank besides the danios and the 2 angels??? If find that the more often I feed good food and therefore the more often I do water changes the faster they grow. But smaller feedings more often so there is less to foul the water.. Ime, if you can do at least twice a week this will probably help them to a growth spurt.. Good luck with your tank.. Sue:D

a 6.5" common pleco

The smaller water changes are until I get my water change kit in 3 months...
But I will do more water changes...

Normal angels need twice weekly wc???

That will depend how far your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate go but as you don't have the test kits yet, do twice a week. It is not that tedious.
