Are you sure they're fats and blacks? The pic I saw on the other thread looked like spines. If they are Pacific caught then they're armed snook. Spines are only from Gulf to Atlantic. Also, don't be fooled if you're basing your ID on fishbase.com pics. The pic they have for a fat snook is incorrectly a swordsine. Fat snook are also a Gulf to Atlantic distribution. I am obsessed with snooks and can properly ID any of the 12 species if given the collection point.
