Those who are keeping them; don't you think they have a sort of animated facial expression that is very likable?

The other fish (IMO) that has this trait is the AUL.

After all the monstrous and evil (in a good way) looks we have with hoplias, channas, piranhas...it is good to add a goofy face fish in the mix I think. LOL!

I did read a couple of your posts on keeping this wonderful species before jumping the gun. It's amazing how you kept one from the size of a tadpole to 3 footer.

Perhaps when they hit 2 feet. Below that, I would think they prefer smaller pellets or frozen blood worms.

My afaro feeds on hi protein granules, sinking sticks (all kinds), shrimp, earthworms, etc. He will also take an occasional live shiner that I feed to the trop gars.

Beautiful fish! They don't look as mean as an arowana, but they're definitely cool!
