we cant? SOB!!

They are native and I know we can't keep them legally. We might be able to apply for a permit but to me that's not worth the hassle. It's like getting a Class 3 permit to own a Full Auto gun and then dealing with a yearly visit from the ATF....not worth it in my opinion of course in this case it would be the State Fish & Game paying you a visit.

I think there's only 2 (maybe 3) states throughout their range where they're not protected. Florida being one of them.

They're protected in every State in their range.......Some States still have bag limits and allow for non-commercial collection........In Florida, they are covered by the fact that commercial Turtle collection was banned, and no one is allowed to possess more than one wild Turtle per day, for personal use........

And Permits usually aren't that hard to get..........I havn't had a visit from the FWC for 2+ years and I can be inspected on any given day in any given year, without prior notice..........
