some unfortunate incidents in recent days. RIP VATF & Armatus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sunnysjourney sunnysjourney if yours is on pure massivore diet than it may not be fatty deposit although I'd reckon all of our tanks aren't big enough for them to burn off energy as they do in the wild. Yes we both have bare bottom tanks along with one eye blind so that may play into effect as well. At a one point the drop eye bulge was so bad that some tissue (idk if it's fat) was sticking out. Maybe the gatf smashed into glass wall to cause that but idk. Post up a pic of your vatf with drop eye, I want to see a comparison.

And here is pix of the drop eye tissue exposed and also the armatus im contemplating housing with the gatf together. Only one of the armatus is still alive, one passed away.

First I've heard of dropeye in atf. Both of you also house your fish with multiple other predators correct? Do you think it could possibly just be injuries?

KNH KNH yes I have multiple predators. And greenerinks greenerinks , my guy isn't as bad as yours. And he isn't as big as yours as well (a tad less than 14")

I don't think mine has any injuries, but in the picture above you can see the starting stages of a drop eye.

Nice vatf, the drop eye wasn't so bad on my gatf before but progressively got worse. Currently not housed with anything but two stingrays and a rtgg. Had more predators mixed in before but started getting too much aggression.
