Some updated pics of my Native tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I did run two different light setups but now i just have one, A cheap marineland double bright LED..
I have light strips but I rarely turn them on lol.My tanks are in the basement and receive plenty of light from the windows during the day,but that would not be adequate for plants.I have the ceiling lights on whenever I spend any time down there.

No they dont eat them. I keep them fat with mosquito fish (guppies) from a big pond by my house i go dip netting at. And i buy feeder gold fish for them and they love cubed bloodworms.

Have you ever tried feeding them any flakes or pellets?

sunfish are stubborn. Try starving them for a few days and feed them tilapia. Never had an issue getting any of my sunnies on frozen in a few days. They will take live every time though so I'd start trying to break them.

If you want them to eat pellets you can soak them in the blood worm juice. Even got wild a bluespoted sunfish onto it my banded is being a pain and still won't take them but he has started to mouth them. The sunfish species you have are know to be more open to other foods so shouldn't be hard just feed the soaked pellts befor the worms.
