I posted before but nobody helped, how do i filter this? where do the hoses go? i have little mini hoses where do those go? Pictures of this same kind of set up would be ideal, for i have yet to find one on google. somebody please help me filtrate i want to get this tank going:irked:

What you have there is a tank with an internal sump filter. It is basically the same thing a s a regular sump, except its smaller and inside the tank.

i heard it was a wetdry trickle filter, and that would make sense because of the sheets with holes in them, but i dont know how to connect the hoses, ive seen pictures just none that look like this, i even went to my lfs and they didn't know how

Clean the tank out real good and get all that junk out and put more picks up, I'll help you set it up when I can see the plumbing better.

Don't scratch the tank up cleaning it, it's made out of plastic and it's really soft. Don't use any cleaners just hot water and rub it clean with your hands. For the REAL stubborn stuff get a PLASTIC "brillo like sponge" and use it very sparingly, and be EXTREMELY careful. Watch what your doing under a light so if your doing damage you can see what your doing.

I wouldn't even use a course sponge on it. vinegar and water should do the trick.

OK, I'm going to help you out here, but you have to promise not to be jealous of my mad MS Paint skills. Cool?

Blue = water flow from the tank to the sump or wet/dry (call it what you want)
Purple = This is where your mechanical filter media will go (on top of the white drip plate
Green = This is where you wil put your biological media such as bio-balls or scrubbies
Red = This is your pump(s). You could have one or two. This tank was driller for two outputs. So, one pump & two outputs or two pumps with one output each.

Hopefully its not too bad of a markup.

Pharoa.......Rotf........ LOOKS GOOD TO ME MAN!! It would've looked like a rat's nest if I had done it like that!

But before I give my opinion what do you think about the second chamber.

I would've put the heat in the bottom where the pump goes so you can run the cord in the passthru.

ya i saw a pic online i'll probably put the heater under the bio area, i just put it in there to show it was there, thanks for the diagram that helps give me an idea, so i put a hose where each hole is i have that tri-hose connecter in one of the pics that came with it...

that y adapter is the splitter for the pump or for the bubbler.... It seems too small to move the water though. I would do 2 smaller pumps one for each return and not use a y adapter....that way if one fails the other still work and you can go straight to the bulkhead with the thicker hose.

The "Y" adapter wil split the output of the pump to the two bulkheads. The other little hoses were probably for air lines or something of that nature.

I would not put the heater in that little compartment. Go with the bottom like you stated.

The smaller chamber helps driect the water through the sump. You could probably stuff more mechanical filter media in there if you wanted.

BTW....much, much nicer after the spit-shine!
