Good call on the "Y" adapter being too small. I guess I didn't look at it really close, but the principles are there.

probably just for an air line. At a quick glance, it looked bigger than 1/4" or so.

thanks all for the feedback, so i guess just forget about the y adapter? and my friends neighbor(guys tank it was) said they had a bubble thing going on, im guessing thats what the smaller tubes are for, i wont touch those haha to many, and yes thanks it took along time to clean the lime/saltiness off of it, i'm planning on buying just 2 hoses then? on to connect to the right side? then to the pump on the left? which exits the left side?(return). sorry ive never used this kind of filtration, thank you all for the help, it is much appreciated
