How big is the endli?
Well I was shooting to get a captive bred small and have it grow out with the ornate. Then when it's 6 or 7 inches and has a bit of girth put it in the big tank and hopefully it grows to know the other bichirs aren't food. Would that work?

That should work. I would try and chunk the ornate up though before you get that size of an endli. From what I've seen Endlis are very cannibalistic when they are small.

I had a rope with my 17-18" pbb who could have easily killed it with no problems ..... I never had a issue with any of my larger sized polys with it ...matter of fact my rope was a beast lol it would take tilapia out of the large polys mouths for itself lol in my experience ropes r resilient it will be fine buddy

In my experience all other bichirs need to be atleast 2" bigger than the endli until the endli gets around 8" when they r smaller than that it's dangerous to put anything they could possibly eat in with them ... Even if the endli is 1-2" and the ornate is 4-5" in my opinion that endli will outgrow that ornate as baby's my cb endli was 1" and in 3 months grew to 9" and I had a wc Volta endli that was 6-7" and grew to a hefty very thick 14" in a matter if about 3 months
Okay how big should I get the ornate first he's 4 to 4.5

How would 11.5" endli do with a 6" lap?

Safer than a small endli .... Bigger sizes don't usually be cannibals .... Kept my 14" cb and my 14" wc with a 5" weeksii and rope
+1 after about 6"-8" they aren't as cannibalistic. I've kept numerous amounts of endlis 10"-16" with 5"-6" senegals and dels. Haven't had any problems. Doesn't mean they won't try it, but it seems after the 6"-8" mark they don't eat other polys nearly as much as they do under that mark.

Do you think it'll help the lap grow or should I just play it safe? He would be moving into a 90G he is in a 40B at the moment and is 6". The 90 has 1 delhezi 8" 1 endli 11.5" and 1 mala wolfish 6".
