just got this tank from a friend who was going to dispose of it.

suggest anything that can live in the tank for life and ill look into it. open to any ideas really.

what captures my interest is something preferably colourful and active.

an anole colony would be kind of cool to me. how many could i do max?

A Rough Green Snake would make an interesting subject... Small, attractive, active, diurnal, insectivorous...

Cheers!

Males are territorial and very aggressive with one another. A pair would do well, possibly a trio...

Keep in mind many reptiles require a UVB light to thrive. Generally, daytime active reptiles require UVB but nocturnal ones do not. But verify this detail by species that you are considering...

There are quite a few options to consider... so give us some more input as to what you are interested in. Do you want this to be a simple or elaborate set up? Do you want it to be a "natural" looking environment? If so do you prefer the look of a dessert, a forest, a swamp, or something else?

What types of animals do you really like or really dislike? As you suggested anoles obviously you are open to lizards. What about a snake? frogs? salamanders? turtles (although I'm not aware of a turtle that will be happy in a 29 gal for life)?

Your question is simply to open ended. It's almost like asking... "I have a small 4 door sedan, where should I drive it for vacation?" :P Just too many possibilities to list.

Depends what you like to do. Lizards require a bunch of tech in the way of lights and heaters.

Frogs. Can be interesting because of the balancing act you must do to keep all the paramiters in check and if you grow live plants it can be even more fun.

Perhaps the tank is a bit on the big size but you could do a scorpian or two maybe even a big friendly fuzzy spider.

Or a planted fish tank (my suggestion)

Pet rocks do very well in 29 gallon tanks aslong as they arnt 29tall and you can provide proper ventalation.

You can keep a lot of things in a 29g tank. But I suggest fish because I am biased. I also suggest live plants for the same reason.

This is my 30 gallon community tetra tank, with one Clown pleco, one Pakistani YOYO Loach, 2 Midnight Goby's and about 14 tetras of 4 different kinds. The tank is close to be overstocked, but everyone gets along great without conflicts and I get tons of enjoyment from this tank. The YoYo loach is tons of personality, but some of them can be aggressive towards other bottom feeders or fish with long tails. Here's some pics-

Best of luck with whatever you choose to do, and remember research, research, research.

i rather do a reptile. amphibians tend to be more lazy. no fish tank...i already got a 125 and since i have gotten it...i cant get into smaller tanks.

mountain hornd dragon? day gecko....maybe a garter snake... so confused lol.

nothing nocturnal. the equipment is no problem.
