I can't decide what to put in my twenty gallon once my Africans out grow it. I was thinking a newt or crabs? No crayfish or shrimp. I have had crayfish before and I'm looking for something new. Maybe a frog or toad? Any and all suggestions welcome. It has to be able to live it's entire life in a 20 gallon though.

i've always wanted to keep some small salamander species, don't know what type though

Corn snake :)
Not my favorite to put a snake in a tank, but....it'd live out its entire life in it.

If you don't mind feeding every day, lots of food...pacman frogs are neat!

Corn snakes can get up to 6 feet. My sisters hit 5 feet before she died. It cannot live in a 20 gallon tank for life. At least not the species I'm thinking of. Also Thai micro crabs don't interest me. I thought about a pacman frog but I know very little about them. Any other suggestions?

Bump.

Yes, corn snakes can live in a 20 gallon their whole lives. I keep them, and have breed them. They are thin snakes, and are not like having a 6 ft boa. It's just a completely differently built snake.
