Ok abit on topic. Have you ever considered keeping ants? Just add some sand into the tank for them to make a mold. It would be cool to watch them moving in tunnels through the side of the tank.
Of course you will need to find some way to surround your tank with water. Else, INFESTATION!!!
Leos are by far the best/easiest lizards. You could try crested geckos, they require more humidity, and a different diet though. Not as personable as leos either.
Oh, Ants is a great idea, but I wouldn't keep them in a 20 gallon tank, probably a sterilite or tupperware container. In the spring you can find a young ant-queen before she settles down, and let her make a colony in your care. They are really awesome bugs!

Ants could be cool. I don't think they could scale the sides of the tank though. At least not the whole way. I might do that with the ten gallon I have laying around.
