So I'm thinking of taking my 75 gallon planted and doing a personable show fish. FYI. I've done discus and schools. I've even done discus and aro in my 340. I just wanna take some of my plants and put them with a fish. Or maybe a pair. Something that will just cost around

maybe a pair of convicts? Cheap, very personable and will do perfect in a 75. If you could do a few blood parrots. Very personable and like the convicts Easy to find.

edit: don’t know how they’ll do with plants

Puffers are personable.

Pair of eartheaters in a planted tank would look nice, but I guess it’s possible they can uproot some plants. A male green terror with nice colors, maybe a pair, could probably work.

My rainbow cichlids from TUIC are extremely personable, doing great in my planted tank, and get along great with all my other fish larger or smaller. Plus they are really prolific if you get a pair and will live peacefully together.IMG_20200828_174416_183.jpgIMG_20200828_174416_182.jpgIMG_20200828_174416_185.jpg[IMG_20200828_174416_183.jpgIMG_20200828_174416_182.jpgIMG_20200828_174416_185.jpg

Sorry for the multiple pics in that post. I could not for the life of me figure out how to delete some of them on my smartphone. Here's a shot of my pair.

Good looking pair of fish ya got there. Wonder what ya could get by crossing a convict with one. Probably nothing as good looking as these 2 but I think it would make for an interesting combo.

Thanks! Not sure if they can cross with each other. I know convicts can breed with lots of different fish but that's one combo I've never seen. I've got two females so they are constantly spawning. I've got a large group of fry coming up in a separate tank to keep them from the angels.

Been having any luck with the angels breeding or are ya not even trying with them. With the rainbow cichlids tho that doesn't surprise me that they are breeding constantly. Lol if they are anything like convicts, they'll breed faster then rabbits. I know when I still bred cons, I had 3 females that would all breed with the same male and pooled the eggs together, so I would get 3 batches every 2 weeks. Least to say my predator fish could not keep up with the amount of fry I was producing.

Oh yeah they have laid eggs many times, there are three males and two females. They are constantly switching up pairs, but I have two bushynose plecos in there who always get the eggs as soon as the lights go out. I've never worried about it much because I dont have space for a couple hundred more angels. Although I just caught one of the plecos eating the new batch of rainbow cichlid eggs in the middle of the day yesterday which was a first. They have hatched fry everytime up until now but the numbers always dwindle to zero after a couple weeks in the tank. I do have about 100 rainbow cichlids growing out in their own tank though so I'm not too worried. I just added one male and five female swordtails to the tank and we will see how that goes. Im considering moving the plecos, and having this tank just rainbow cichlids and swordtails in the long term. The Angel's will live out there life here, but the rainbow cichlids and swordtails will hopefully keep me in future generations so they can be self sustaining.
