Back to the topic at hand, the op stated something about a 55 gallon being too small for whatever species, and I agree, but where do you draw the line? 55 gallons is minimum for 1 oscar, but a 75 gallon is required for a Red devil? What about a female red devil? What about a male red devil that is fully grown, and only 11 inches? Still a 75 gallon tank? What specifications need to be recognized when considering tank size? Is width a concern, and to what degree? Swimming length? Should the minimum tank size be recommended for the Average size of the species or the largest of the species?
