As inhumane as it is to make any animal suffer like that, i believe that these vid's are meant to show the skill and precision that these chefs have in order for them to keep the fish alive even after taking off over 70% of the body. I hate the fact that the fish were kept alive to suffer, but at the same time it is quite interesting to see the skill involved.
 
Good point. I enjoy sushi. It's just kind of gruesome to slice half of that fish off and throw it back to slowly suffer and die. No one thinks it will survive, do they? The correct analogy for the cow would be to slice out the loin and send it back out to the field to suffer and die.
 
Sushi is delish. The act of keeping the fish is cruel. There are a couple things not stated yet though..........

for a saltwater fish, it's amazing how much it looks like a Dat. Not perfect but does somewhat resemble it.
