Sounds like gammarus, scuds. Try adding something that will eat them all and can avoid predation. Perhaps a trio of giant danios.

I do believe we have a winner! This is what they look like...I beliveve( tiny ). What can you tell me about them? Are they harmful?

Did some research on 'em. Sounds like fish food! One place said loaches and discus love them ( giant danios would work, but I imagine my arrow would take them out soon as they hit the water ). Think a med. sized clown loach would work well? Rays are still pups don't want anything that would pick at them. Thanks.

Gammarus are harmless. They can serve as a good food source,- that is if the rays would actually eat them... If they dont get eaten - and are present in larger numbers - i can imagine it could cause some stress to the rays though... crawling all over their discs...

Agree that they are harmless to the rays except for large numbers crawling over and irritating the rays. With that many in your tank, there has to be a lot of food for them to eat. Maybe cleaning the sand more often will help. Their number should decrease over time.

What is your WC schedule? Bugs like that appear when there is alot of minerals in water and substrate..Ive had some bugs in my tanks, and it simply came by overfeeding and to small waterchanges.

agree.
:)
feeder guppies work great to get rid of these type of things, then they in turn feed your rays, win win.
