Hi guys, something is wrong with my endy and i just cant figure it out. I have 5 endys in this tank and some other bichirs, arowana, datnoids and others. Nothing wrong with the other fish exept this one so im ruling out parasites n stuff like that.

It all started off when i sold my ansorgii, it died in my friends tank after about 5-6hours.. When i came back home (3 days later) i found my endy in very bad condition, i thought it would get better -figured that the damn pleco had sucked on its skin takin away the "skinprotection" so i got rid of the pleco -bought waterpreperation medicine that makes the water better, gives fish skinprotection and so on -but no effekt its just getting worse and worse.

As u can see in the video below, the "skin" has rised, looks really bad and trust me, it looks atleast 50% worse IRL, coloration is messed up, the stripes has faded and skin is brown -as if burned at some areas and whiteish on other areas, one eye is normal the other clowed but turns black again from time 2 time -always the same eye. Mucus hanging out of the gels and it has not eaten food for abour 1½ week but still fat so thats good.

I've tried salt but not big amaunts, i've tried vitamine medicine -no luck, tried feeding it so it gets stronger -doesnt eat. Im afraid 2 move it to a nother tank because its so weak and because of the lack of stuff i would need 2 set it up..

Im so broken, i love my endys and now look at it, i just cant figure out the problem... Have u guys seen somethin like this, what should i/can i do ? What do u think it is?

I really dont want 2 loze this fish.. Plz help

are there red streaks lining the scales? i can't really tell from the video. in any case, my guess is bacterial infection, and if you see red streaks, it's septicemia. even if you don't see red, it's still most likely similar type of bacterial infection. you need to treat it with aquarium salt and broad spectrum antibiotics. What fish antibiotics (generic or brand name) are available where you are? tetracycline? gentamycin? kanamycin?

Just fyi Amaro septicemia is blodförgiftning, might make it easier to get the most appropriate medicine if you say that to your dealer.

Good luck :>

Okay so its a bakterial infection and "bloodpoisoning" if i understood it right?
No red streaks, but the fins are redish-pink.

The endy is the only fish in the tank with this problem, should i try 2 remove him from the tank and treat him or should i let him stay in the big tank and medicate the whole tank? I got some advice not to remove it because that probably will kill it as with my ansorgii.

The medecine against this, can it effect my other fish in a negative way if i treat the whole tank? -so its medicine against bakterial infections, i dont know the brands we have but im sure that my LFS will give me the best medicine there is -the owners are great guys.

But what do u guys think, odds for it 2 survive?

Can i put like 10% salt in a bucket and then leave the endy there for about 10 minutes then put it back in the tank? i read somethin last night about this.

Give me as much tips and information as you can, thx for the help guys

A smaller endy is now showin similar problems, at some parts of the body. And there are clear red streaks lining the scales.. DAMN IT !!

Its now obvious that i have 2 treat the whole tank, will cost allot in medicine.... and i have fish for 1400 Euro in this tank damn it.. What if the medicine kills some of the fish..

I freaking hate this..

You're sure there's no ammonia in the tank water? Sometimes ammonia poisoning looks a lot like bacterial infection. Just checking, you probably already tested your water but you didn't say so.

is it like this?

this endli is live event have this kind ill about 4 month but as u can see it scales up and have red colour .
but another fish in that thank is normal
my treat are give 6 drop of " BLITZ- ICH " in seperated 125 l water and full water change for another fish.
but this treatment make u fish weird like that.

Yeah i've had 2 high amonia levels but that was around 3 weeks ago (thx to my bro who didn't take care of the tank when i was away) but i sorted that out and the levels have been fine ever since. Btw, if its amonia then it probably would effekt all the fish, not only one or two am i right? The symptoms i see on the endys match with bacterial infection so i hope im right about this.

Yes, scales looks like that but my endy looks really really sick aswell, yours looks healty in comparasin. mine has Clowded eyes, heavy breathing, decoloration, fins are all messed up and so on.

ALRIGHT, i went to my LFS and showed them the video, they were sertain about bacterial infection. The best medicine they had 2 offer me was "aqua floxin" -active substance = sarafloxacin -its mainly against bacteria. This is how the pakage looks: http://www.zooprofi.de/images/product_images/thumbnail_images/8965_0.jpg

Does anyone know about this medicine, have u guys used it? will it work? -it is a antibiotic, kills every living bacteria in the tank so i had 2 remove my filters n stuff.

This is what its for:

Symptoms: bacterial infections, fish show changes like loss of skin and scales, swellings, eruptions up to crater-like depressions, wounds with and without reddening of the surrounding tissue, ulcers, fin erosin, decelerated or accelerated movement, careering movements, cramping, general darkening of colouring, swollen abdomen in conjuction with ruffled scales.

Well not alot of the symptoms there that i have on my fish but its an antibiotic and hopefully it will work, we went through like 20 different medicine and this was the best match..
