Some good info here. Ive got a GT with internals I beieve. Im going to try the prazipro because Hikari makes quality products usually.
 
yes was a shame but had to be done

wierd thing was, none of the other fish had similar problems, the FH was the only one

iv personally never had luck with using any off the shelf med for anything. so my experience has taught me make sure the tanks clean to try and prevent disease occuring in the first place.
 
no i didnt have any luck with the FH.
my green terror has it now too, not sure what to do so any more suggestions would be great!
 
hi,
i cured my fish. i put him for a day on metronidazole i.v. then i changed 60% water and loaded with probiotic bacteria sachets{ lacto bacillus and other spores which are given to children with dysentry}. the theory is when i cleaned my tank i used potassium permanganate to oxidise all the wastes as i found my fish rubbing the substrate. but i foolishly left the filter pump inseide the tank. so i killed all the beneficial bacteria. due to this it got stressed and got some bacterial stomach infection.

so i followed the above steps. even if we use metronidazole. it kills all the beneficial bacteria also. so this interrupts the digestive process. to kick start this i used this probiotics.

Good to hear your success! I havent heard of metronidazole before. Is it available from aquatic retailers?
 
NO IT'S USED FOR BACTERIAL DYSENTRY IN HUMANS IT IS AVAILABLE AS 400MG AND 200MG TABLETS WHICH IS CHEAPER.
IF U WANT TO GET QUALITY, GO FOR METRONIDAZOLE I.V SOLUTION WHICH DOES NOT HAVE ANY ADDITIVES AS IN TABLETS[STARCH}
