Something wrong with stingray?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think that heater can still burn a ray personally. I have one like it in my sump and touched it while on to see how hot it gets, needless to say, had to let go quick. Very hot. Dangle it in the middle of the tank till you can get a cover would be my advise. Could be light heater burn.

Could it be a parasite or an infection of some sort I just want to make sure she's not sick they look exactly like and oscars sensory pits but she is still eating for me everytime

The pic isn't very clear, but I would suspect heater burn too. I would get a cover, or diy by putting the heater in a pvc pipe with a bunch of small holes drilled.

You should still get the nitrate test. Recovery could be complicated by high nitrates. Should watch it closely since it's only 60 gallons.

Well I think it may be heater burn or irritation from when I put in sand because she not getting worse she looks a little better and she still eating like a pig I covered the heater so she can't get burnt incase it was heater burn and I'm in the process of selling my fish to get her in my 180 gallon grow out so she has more room till she gets big enough to go in my uncles 800 gallon pond so thank you for all your help guys

Is it just a slight discoloration?
What is the diet of the ray?

I seen something similar but it went away or the color/pattern went back to normal a few days later.
