i came home yseterday and my small catfishs' right eye looked like it was kinda bulging out of his head and it was cloudy!! What's wrong?

well it could just be a bruise maybe knocked it on decor or another fish hit him/her dont go overloading tank with meds just keep an watch on it and if it gets no worse leave it and it should heal may take a few days though

so any fish that has a cloudy eye should have medication thrown at it immediatly should it as it has to be fungus?

I'd check the water params personally. Popeye can be caused by several things, and cloudy eyes are more than likely a secondary infection. If tank is cycled get up on your water changes, and increase the salts and temp. Should help sooth it.

I've got the temp at about 80 deg. and i put some extra salt...it hasn't gotten any worse. possibly ditry water that caused this? I do a 30% WC every sat on my 55gal.
Thats the only time i have so it would be benaficial to do maybe a 50% WC? The tank has been cycled for almost a year. so popeye is a fungus that is caused for poor water conditions?
I'm not one to medicate my dish immediately i'll raise the temp and add some salt first and see how they are in a day. if they seem the same i'll give them another couple of days with the salt.
The only time i medicate is if i see them getting worse.

Popeye is not a desiese in itself, but could be an indicator of poor water qaulity. Usually high ammonia, nitrates, or nitrites. Could also be a bacterial infections. There's a whole list of things that could cause it, even stress is said to cause it sometimes, and tankmates can sometimes try to claim an eye and make it bulge too. I'd say you are doing fine on water changes, but if saturday is the only day you can do it I would personally do 50% until the eye gets better. Too bad that's the only time you have to do it. When my fish are sick I do daily water changes of %25-35%. Seems like it just helps them heal faster. Test your parameters, and if anything is off you might want to take a look at your filtration system to see if your biofilter can handle the amount of fish in your tank.

yeah right now I'm taking summer classes and i work full time so that the only day i have like and 2-3 hour break...on a average day i get to work at 5 and get off at 3:30 then i head to the college and start studying/homework and i leave college at about 10:30 and get home about 11:00pm
so the next month is going to really suck...
