Somethings Wrong With My FH...HELP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Chloe,

It sounds more like it may be camalanus worms than some of the other suggestions. I just lost a FH to this last night and have three others with advanced signs of it. If this is in fact what it is, metronidozole will not work. Melafix is a waste of your money to doe with as it does not cover parasites like this. Jungle makes an anti-parasite food with metro, praziquantinal and levanismole (dewormers) in it. Get him on this stuff while he is still eating. If it is any kind of worm, this food will do the trick. Also, feeding him food with garlic for at least three weeks will kill the worms.

sorry for your loss.
unfortunatly he stopped eating over a week ago now.
he doesnt seem to be losing weight but...well i dont no, i think i may be ignoring signs because i dont want him to die.
hes stopped pooing at all and not eating. nothing seems to be working.

I know what you mean. You won't see the weight loss until his body starts digesting muscle. Then look around the lower part of his belly and you will see it is sunken in. It is not pleasant to watch. Since mine are not eating, I am considering dosing the tank with a dog de-wormer instead of puting it in the food. I am unsure as to the impact and worry this may kill everyone, so I am holding out.
