thanks seth. good thing it was only one tank. the other fish are all ok because we have different pumps on the other tanks

Wow, very sad sight indeed. Sorry for your tremendous loss. It is always painful to start again. I had a near miss when the oxygen inlet came out in the catfish tank (luckily for me none perished) but that was close
