Being bored last Tuesday I decided to visit my hubby at the shop. So I took the hour drive and after we had lunch I stopped at the local pet store.

And there was a cute little stingray. $65. About 4 inch disk, the store said they had him for two months. He was eating frozen blood worms and was swimming up the tank sides and eating shrimp from a worker's hand. Only thing they didn't know was what kind of ray it was.

I wanted that ray soooooo bad!

Didn't buy it, couldn't buy it (and live with myself!) My biggest tank is a 75 and that just doesn't cut it with a fish that could get 20" round.

Arhhh! :nilly: :irked: I wish I had a bigger tank!

Have you ever passed up a fish you really wanted, because you knew it just wouldn't be "right"?

Pretty much everyday, but good job on sticking to what you can handle.

Yeah, I figure I got some fishkeeping karma points now.

I just tell myself that there will be other rays, and I will be prepared to have one someday. But until that day I just have to take a deep breath and count to ten when I come across those fish I want but don't have the proper set up for.

Hell, I feel bad for keeping my eight inch fire eel in the 75.

I had to pass on a very nice Asian Aro due to lack of tank space. My tank is big enough but its already full, ohh well.

i've passed up on a lot of fish that i want and i actually dont like the feeling.
If i were you, i would get that ray then start saving for a new tank. He wouldnt grow to 20" in the next few months anyway. of course, that's just me. if you feel you made the right decision. then all's well. hope you come across another good one soon! :)

u can always upgrade the tank thats my motto goo dthing they dont have much things here in MA that interest me lolz i would just die

ahh... this is the story of my life! every friday i must restrain myself as i visit my favorite stores. but i must admit when i first started out i bought many fish that i fell in love with but had to get rid of because the fish grew much faster than i anticipated. now my problem is i got a tank in storage that wont even fit in my house.

Well, I was suppose to have a 180 by now. Thing is everytime I get the money saved something breaks, this last time it was the washer. Before it was the van.

My hubby has started building me stand for a 180 and is marking off space for a fish room in the basement. We just have so many things going on right now that it looks like my fish room isn't going to get really going until winter.

I'd hate to buy a fish with the intention to upgrade and then not be able to do it. I feel better waiting until I have the right tank.

I have no self control when it comes to fish, thats how I ended up with 40 tanks, and Im actually shopping for tanks on another page right now:D
