its also really amazing when you know youve done things right. the water parameters are perfect, the fish are super healthy and behaving the way they are supposed to in the wild.

its just awesome. and incredibly soothing.

i guess it makes up for all the times you run around pulling your hair out trying to figure out where you went wrong!

RAmen to that man, I feel the same way.

I finished up the main setup for my 75 gallon last night. I put in the final plants and it looks great. Costed a bit throughout the ordeal and I've hit a few snags here and there but it definitely all pays off in the end.

:iagree:

god the cost is sometimes crazy!

i spent just over $100 on 60 lbs of flourite for my 55 gallon tank (its my biggest for the moment). the plants are loving it though. we got a pair of red rubin swords just over a week ago and the two of them have put up 3 leaves all total already. and they are getting this really nice maroon color in the leaves.

my boyfriend just brought home 6 congo tetras that are in a 30 gallon quarantine tank. i cant wait to add them to the 55 gallon.

Totally. I'm loving things right now. My fish are all eating what I want them too (poly started chowing down on pellets last night), the fish aren't fighting, my growout tank is even crystal clear...and all the params are right on. Of course just when you think you've got it right somebody eats something else...this is MFK after all :)

hahahahahahah

i dont have anything aggressive...yet

my floors cant handle huge tanks (this isnt my home, i rent). this board though has been a huge inspiration. i definately have monster fish fever. i cant wait to retire the 55 gallon to a wet/dry filter!

I feel like this hobby is my coping skill. With all the drama, bs life throws at you at times, its just awesome and the best when you sit down and relax and stare at one of the tanks. how peacefully the fish swim, and how pretty the tank is. I love it. It helps me regain sanity. It helps me ignore the bs that is going on in life. My fav time is late at night, when all the cats dogs kids are asleep, its quiet and the house is picked up, I sit back and watch one of my tanks is complete silence. :)

its really nice to sit and watch the fish. the quieter you are the more active they become. it has gone a long way to get me to relax (i almost never do). also, when i want activity, it keeps me busy.

also, theres just something really satisfying about kicking back and looking at them and realizing you did that. you made that and the fish are doing well because you put the hard work into them.

its a great feeling :)
