The sand is made by CaribSea, and it's "Eco-Complete African Cichlid Substrate." Comes in wet-packed 20lb bags (~$1/lb?) or in dry (non-Eco line, same damn sand) 50lb bags (~75c/lb?). IIRC, he got it as a trade for his previous gravel, a bucket of his for a bucket of this.
