Son has many choices, West Point, USNA, ROTC (Full)....tough decision!

Congrats on a fine son! Is he currently a senior in high school? Reason I'm asking is most seniors don't make these type of decisions until later in the school year. I'm surprised at the current 30 day limit on the Rutgers ROTC.
Regarding the military academies, has he contacted the offices of your state senators? A senator nomination is very important. He will also have to talk with an information officer for each respective academy. As you noted, it is very tough to get into a military academy now. My brother went to Annapolis, and his son is currently there.

Yes, he wants to serve as a commissioned officer as a career. We'll go slow on that one.

He has already finished his nomination packet. The senator actually invited him to Washington DC for a weekend to tour congress ( capitol hill) and have breakfast with him in Capitol Hill. I think he's a shoe in for the nomination. Plus, the schools have downsized so much, that Senators and COngresman have enough for almost every applicant when they work together and borrow slate spots from other states constituants. And yes, he is a senior. The 30 day decision isnt just rutgers, its ROTC in general He did just accepted to the citadel today as well.
