Pat the 180 will get small fast for a Red tail mine is 36 " in 2 1/2 years and I haven't really fead him for growth in the last year. When I want growth I use Menhaden and plenty of it also fresh Bluefin tune and yellow fin, he can put on up to 1" a month during these feedings as long as the tank is large enough. Good luck with the tank.

I know this, I've had 2 RTC's in the past, along with many other large catfish, aros, and pretty much everything else. I have pictures of all my old fish hidden around on the forums.

My RTC was my favorite fish, it got to 18" and then I was forced to get rid of it, I didn't have the tank to sustain it at the time, and he had such great personality. I liked training them to eat out of my hand. The RTC at the moment is 10" so it's going to take a little bit to grow.
