Its definately Stapelia gigantea. Nice looking flower, next spring you should repot it to get it growing more and you might get more flowers.
cool
and ya it definitely needs repotting, soon
will be cool with a few of those flowers "minus all the flies lol"
any clue on the lil white things in the last pics??

They are fly eggs, dont mind them, the maggets will hach but it would be nothing for them to eat and they will starve. ;) Beautifull flower. Keep the maggets away from your body cavity, or else they will eat you FROM THE INSIDE OUT:yuck::barf::crazy::ROFL:

Believe it or not that one isn't too bad, some smell much worse. Desmidorchis speciosa from Somalia smells like a mixture of dog s--- and toejam, and one small cluster of flowers can stink out an entire greenhouse!!

Wonder why they are not more popular:confused::ROFL:

They're really rare and very hard to grow. Coming from Somalia they need very little water and temperatures above 10-15C. The 'spikey ones' that the flower is sitting on will be from the same family (different genus tho) and will have a much smaller (but still cool) flower. A lot of them are impossible to identify by the stems, you need to see the flower.

I was gessing it would be something like that:) They are also probably very prone to rotting :( But if it flowers its ocasion to say"Wow sorry Los Angeles ,piu"
