depends on the type of ray. i would just look at the biggest they get and then have that tank ready for them before you buy the ray. that way you wont have to worry about upgrading the tank.

Is it normal to ask if you can regulate your children's growth and size by the amount of food you feed them? It seems like its very normal when someone asks if they can do that to something other than a human, but then it turns out to be some crazy ethically messed up question when we ask if its possible on a human. Rays never stop growing but will do their majority within 2 years or in the case of a female they will grow alot the first time they are pregnant.Dane;3909681; said:

Fire eels get longer than 2ft & an oscar with any Amazonian ray is a bad mix no matter what past experiences with these fish might be.
